Parking update

Wishard Health Services is excited to announce further improvements to our parking and shuttle services here on campus. Since improvements were made on July 1, Wishard leadership has continued to monitor parking and shuttles and to listen to employees. On Aug. 23, we will be updating the shuttle services and addressing some concerns from employees.

Through a new partnership with IUPUI, we will provide Wishard employees with more efficient routes and larger shuttle buses. Please note these important updates:

Beginning Aug. 23, Wishard will partner with IUPUI to transport Wishard passengers to and from the Bush Stadium and Bush Overflow/Kuntz Parking Lots.

The IUPUI partnership will allow employees to use larger shuttles while increasing the number of shuttles available to employees. This will reduce the time employees have to wait between shuttles and accommodate more seated passengers on each bus.

Shuttle stops on the Wishard grounds will be reduced to two stops: one for dropping off passengers at Wishard (Wishard Stop #1 between the Ott & Bryce buildings) and the second for picking up passengers from Wishard (Wishard Stop #2 at 10th Street Entrance/West Building).

The two stops will allow the shuttles to move much more quickly.

Over the next few weeks, please feel free to stop by the parking table outside the Wishard Cafeteria.  This week, staff members will be manning the booth from 3 – 5 p.m. today, from 7 – 9 a.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday.  Please read the Wishard Communication Daily for more times!

Wishard employee and staff parking

The first stages of construction on the new Wishard have begun! With the demolition of vacated buildings at the new site on West Tenth St., construction plans are proceeding on schedule!  During the construction of the new Wishard, parking information will be updated and shared with staff on an ongoing basis.Microsoft Word - wishard shuttle map 1-15-10.doc

On March 15, there will no longer be parking available in the Overflow/Elmwood St. Parking Lot.  Parking in the West Lot will still be available.  Employees are encouraged to take advantage of the free parking offered at the intersection of 16th and Harding streets at Bush Stadium.  The Bush Stadium Parking Lot has plenty of spaces, and it is paved, well lit and patrolled by Wishard Security.  Patients, visitors and staff are all welcome to park here for free.  Monday through Friday, two shuttles run continuously from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. (midnight), and a third shuttle is going into service soon. We are reviewing the shuttle route to ensure that it operates as efficiently as possible and is integrated with the shuttle service offered by IUPUI.

Parking update

Parking for patients and visitors to Wishard Hospital will not be impacted by construction. At various stages during the project, employee and staff parking areas may be limited. The New Wishard Transformation Team is working with valued neighbors including IUPUI to minimize the project’s impact on parking in the area.
