Less than 24 hours after Marion County voters overwhelmingly approved the project to construct a new Wishard, officials set about the work of preparing to build the new facilities.
Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County President and CEO Matthew Gutwein signs the land exchange agreement with IUPUI the day after the election.
On Nov. 4, Wishard officials signed a land exchange agreement with IUPUI to begin asbestos remediation work on the newly-acquired grounds of the former Larue D. Carter Psychiatric Hospital, a vacant structure that will be demolished during the winter to make way for a new Wishard.
