Less than 24 hours after Marion County voters overwhelmingly approved the project to construct a new Wishard, officials set about the work of preparing to build the new facilities.

On Nov. 4, Wishard officials signed a land exchange agreement with IUPUI to begin asbestos remediation work on the newly-acquired grounds of the former Larue D. Carter Psychiatric Hospital, a vacant structure that will be demolished during the winter to make way for a new Wishard.
