As a vital cog in the life sciences industry, Eskenazi Health attracts bright talent to the region as one of central Indiana’s core teaching hospitals and as a hub for clinical research. Eskenazi Health provides local employers a pipeline of highly educated professionals when these students advance in their careers.

Eskenazi Health is one of the area’s largest employers, with more than 4,100 invidiuals and 1,076 physicians on staff.

Systemwide, Eskenazi Health contributes an economic impact to Indiana of $1.2 billion.

Since 2004, Eskenazi Health’s use of property tax support has decreased by half and reduced as a percentage of total expense by nearly two thirds. In 2009, property tax revenue made up just 5.4 percent of Eskenazi Health’s $461.5 million in total revenue.
