Work began on Eskenazi Health immediately following Marion County’s overwhelming vote of support in the Nov. 3, 2009 Special Election.

Before that, Wishard’s leadership began its extensive and exhaustive research into facility replacement plans and ultimately plans for the new hospital complex.

Officials signed the first land exchange agreement with IUPUI the day after the election, and demolition work on the vacant structures at the site began right away.
